Covenant for the Land

Following Abram's believing the promise of God concerning his seed, God covenanted with Abram that his descendants should inherit the land of Canaan. In the process, a deep sleep, and an horror of great darkness fell upon Abram. In Christ and His cross there is a greater deep sleep, and horror of great darkness in which we see God's sovereign provision of the fulness of a redemption that deals in a final way with the conscience of man through being united with Christ in death and resurrection. We are brought into the real and growing experience of the unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ, whereby He is made unto us wisdom, righteousness, holiness, and redemption.
